Paul Finch was elected president of the BC General Employees’ Union (BCGEU) in 2024. He was elected executive vice-president in 2011 and served as treasurer from 2014 to 2024. He is responsible for the BCGEU’s ethical investment program and its policy on housing affordability and land economics.

Paul is also a vice-president of the National Union of Public and General Employees and a vice-president of the BC Federation of Labour, having served on the executive of both organizations since 2014. Diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum, he also serves as chair of the board of directors of Autism Canada.

Paul received his ICD.D designation in 2019 from the Directors Education Program through the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management and the Institute of Corporate Directors. During his career in the civil service, Paul worked primarily in real estate and information technology project management. In his spare time, he enjoys classical studies and Platonism.
