Maria Middlemiss was appointed to the board in April 2017 by the BC General Employees’ Union (BCGEU).

Maria has approximately 30 years of experience in extended benefit coverage and the provincial drug benefit program. Maria applies this knowledge and expertise to her role as chair of the board’s benefits committee and to her role as vice chair of the board.

Maria was elected as BCGEU treasurer in June 2024. She previously served as vice president and Local 1201 chair of the administrative professionals component in the BCGEU.
