Other ways to name or change your beneficiary(ies)

Submit the Nomination of beneficiary (pre-retirement) form to name or change your beneficiary(ies).

You can also name beneficiaries in your will.

Eligibility

You must be an active member of BC's Public Service Pension Plan to name or change your beneficiary online.

If you have a spouse
If you have a spouse, they are automatically your beneficiary. If your spouse wants to waive their beneficiary right to a death benefit, you must submit Form 4 Spouse's waiver of beneficiary right to benefits in a pension plan, locked-in retirement account, life income fund or annuity before pension or annuity payments start. Once the plan has this form on file, you can sign in to My Account to name a new beneficiary or change your beneficiary to someone other than your spouse.

If you are a limited member
Submit the Nomination of beneficiary (limited member) form.
