Retirement health and dental coverage
While the situation is quickly evolving, it’s important to maintain coverage for unexpected emergency situations.
Who do I contact if I have questions about my health and dental coverage?
If you have questions about claims, contact Green Shield Canada by phone at 1-888-711-1119 or visit their website.
Pension Corporation staff will be happy to answer your questions about enrolment and premiums through My Account Message Centre or by phone.
I’ve had limited access to extended health and dental services during the pandemic. Do I still need to pay for coverage?
Yes, you need to continue paying your premium to be covered.
I heard Green Shield Canada is reducing premiums. How do I get my money back?
To reflect changes in the availability of services, Green Shield Canada has announced they will be temporarily applying a 75 per cent reduction on dental premiums and an eight per cent reduction on extended health care premiums for three months. The reduced premiums will be applied to your July, August and September pension payments.
You don’t need to do anything to have the reductions applied to your payments.
If you are paying Green Shield Canada directly through pre-authorized debit, the premium payments from your bank account will be reduced for July, August and September.
What if I want to cancel my coverage?
At the moment, current enrolment rules apply:
- If you’re enrolled in either of the dental plans, you need to remain a member of the plan for a minimum of 12 months.
- If you cancel and later decide to re-enrol, you’ll need proof of continuous coverage in another plan.
