Use the personalized purchase cost estimator or submit an application to find out how much it will cost to buy service.

The cost of buying most service types is based on:

  • The number of months of service you want to buy
  • Your current full-time-equivalent salary
  • The current employee and employer contribution rates

Sign in to My Account and use the personalized purchase cost estimator to get an estimate of:

  • Buying service for an approved leave
  • Buying non-contributory service  

The personalized purchase cost estimator will calculate the cost of buying your service and show you the estimated increase in your monthly pension.

If you decide to buy service, send us a completed Purchase of service application form.

When using the personalized purchase cost estimator in My Account, for most service types, you can pre-populate your Purchase of service application form with your personal information.

After you send us the completed Purchase of service application form, we will calculate the cost of buying service and send you a statement of cost. You must pay the full amount by the deadline shown.

You cannot use the personalized purchase cost estimator to estimate the cost of buying past service or arrears. If you want to find out the cost of buying past service or arrears, submit the Purchase of service application form and we will send you an estimate.
