What is the year’s maximum pensionable earnings?

The year’s maximum pensionable earnings amount is set by the federal government. We use this amount to calculate your annual contributions to the plan.

Each year, the federal government sets the year’s maximum pensionable earnings (YMPE). This is the maximum salary amount on which you need to contribute to the Canada Pension Plan.

We use YMPE in our formula to calculate your annual contribution to BC's Public Service Pension Plan.
