Meet the Public Service Pension Board of Trustees

David Vipond was appointed to the board in January 2001 by the British Columbia Government and Service Employees’ Union. He participated in the negotiations that led to joint trusteeship of the Public Service Pension Plan in 2001, becoming a trustee that year.
David served as the vice chair of the Public Service Pension Board of Trustees from 2007 to 2010 and returned to this position on January 1, 2011. On May 1, 2016, he became chair of the board. In addition to his service with the board, David has been appointed by the board as a director of the British Columbia Pension Corporation and chairs its Human Resources Committee.
His training and education in pension management includes courses at the UBC Sauder School of Business and the International Labour Organization. David has completed training for Advanced Trust Management Standards certification in Group Benefits Management, Pension Fund Management and Pension Fund Leadership. He has completed the directors education program with the University of Toronto and received the ICD.D designation, and has completed the Board Effectiveness Program at the International Centre for Pension Management.
